At Seniors Helping Seniors® Western Cuyahoga, we have a passion for meeting the needs of seniors in a way that provides both dignity and a sense of camaraderie. Our owners James and Dawn Bentley firmly believe we can do that through serving seniors in our community, which includes: RockyRiver, Parma, North Olmsted, and surrounding areas.
Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services match seniors who want to help with seniors who need a little help. This peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors who need some help to have those needs met in a way that is caring and is coming from someone they relate to. This matching also allows seniors the opportunity to stay active in their community and feel the joy of helping their neighbor. Often time’s senior providers and receivers form strong bonds; it is truly like getting a little help from your friends.
“The seniors providers who work with us really offer the compassion and empathy that only one senior can give to another,” James indicates. “Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home services truly provide love, caring and compassion to seniors.”
Seniors Helping Seniors® home care providers offer many services including light housekeeping, meal preparation, transportation, shopping, yard work, house maintenance and small repairs, overnight stays, personal grooming and dressing, mobility assistance, doctor’s appointments, pet care, and most importantly, companionship.
James and Dawn Bentley are lifelong residents of Ohio, and nearly 10 years calling Cleveland home. They love family; with Dawn from a family of four and James being the youngest of seven. However, it is their nine children, ages 25 down to 7, that keep them young, tired and loving every minute of it. James has spent most of his career behind the desk, running small businesses; either for someone else or for himself. He is excited now to be able to put his servant heart to work, helping seniors to keep active, fulfilled and maintain an independence they desire to continue. Dawn is as much part of the business, even when she is managing the household and homeschooling the children still at home.
The Bentleys consider Grace Church (Middleburg Heights) their second home and second family. Although James has held church leadership positions in the past when they lived in Columbus, he now finds his contentment at Grace driving for the parking lot shuttling ministry. Dawn also finds time to lead various women’s Bible studies and ministries. The kids enjoy the youth programs and helping with childcare for weekday ministries. Even though James’ 91 year old mother and Dawn’s parents are aging gracefully, they realize the importance and necessity for their parents, as well as others’ parents, to carry on their activities of daily living with dignity and purpose. It is with this mission that both James and Dawn are excited and privileged to serve their community by offering home care services through Seniors Helping Seniors of Western Cuyahoga County.

About Our Founders
Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care service was co-founded by Kiran and Philip Yocom in order to realize Kiran’s personal mission of providing care for those who can’t care for themselves. Before coming to the United States from India, Kiran worked with Mother Teresa for 14 years.
How We've Grown
From our roots in Pennsylvania, and our first match in 1998, Seniors Helping Seniors® has grown to include hundreds of locations in the US and Internationally.
